Singapore-based shipping company Pacific International Lines (PIL) has announced the order of four ammonia-ready LNG-powered container ships, continuing its commitment to environmental sustainability and operational efficiency.

The new vessels, with a capacity of 14,000 TEU each, will be built at Jiangnan Shipyard in China and are scheduled for delivery in 2025. These ships will feature state-of-the-art technology and be equipped with dual-fuel engines that can operate on both LNG and ammonia.

In addition to the four 14,000 TEU vessels, PIL has also ordered an 8,200 TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship from Yangzijiang Shipyard. This vessel is expected to be delivered in 2024.

With these new orders, PIL will operate a fleet of nine LNG dual-fuel container ships, including four 14,000 TEU and four 8,200 TEU vessels. The company's commitment to sustainable shipping practices is evident in its investment in ammonia-ready technology, which allows for a seamless transition to carbon-free fuels in the future.
